The raw material of biological origin liquid fuels (bio-fuels) are mainly secured from agricultural plantations. The system connection of preparation and utilization of bio-fuel is in the undershown graphic.
Bio-diesel
The production of bio-diesel is to be realized within the declared bio-diesel program of the Ministry of Agriculture, maintaining within an integrated system of product preperation and utilization. Within the frame of this program, two reference plants, with total 14 million litre capacity has been built with government support. Until today there has been no effective bio-diesel production. Our company does not deal with these types of bio-fuels according to the evaluation of efficiency, expenses and purchases due to international experiences, technologies and the domestic competent plant culture. This could be reconsidered due to prosperous changes of technologies and the law.
Bio-ethanol
For the time being in 15 countries of the EU the bio-ethanol is used for ETBE additive or/and E5 petrol (5% bio-ethanol content petrol). Whereas in the USA the E85 (85% bio-ethanol content petrol), in Brazil 100% bio-ethanol fuel, and in Sweden in special motors E-diesel (95% ethanol content diesel fuel) the utilization has years of experience.
For the production of bio-ethanol, basically two method has been spread throughout the world, namely from the sugar of sugar-containing plantations, and from starch of plants containing starch, with traditional alcohol producing technology.
Nowadays there is a third method in experimental stage, where agricultural by-products, waste and cellulose content industrial and communal waste�s cellulose content is turned into sugar with a two stages hidrolyzis, then ethanol is made from sugar with traditional alcohol producing technology.
Sugar based bio-ethanol production
The technology has many years of operational experience, confirming with references. The capital of investment and operation can be planned correctly.
In South-America on the base of sugarcane a widely spread, cost-efficient bio-ethanol industry has evolved, which results big volume of low-priced ethanol offer even delivered to Europe.
In Hungary on the basis of sugar-beet, there could be a new industry created as a new alternative to sugar production, but under nowadays circumstances of capital and efficiency, the serious amount of investment capital to establish new capacities are not economically reasonable. We are not dealing with this type of bio-ethanol producing technology.
Starch based bio-ethanol production
The technology has many years of operational experience, confirming with references. The investment capital and operational cost can be planned correctly.
In North-America on the base of corn, wheat and sorghum a widely spread, cost-efficient bio-ethanol industry has evolved, which results big volume of low-priced ethanol offer even delivered to Europe.
In Hungary on the base of corn and wheat, a significant bio-ethanol industry could be created, which could produce ethanol with competitive prices, securing a balanced demand, and could give a solution for grain oversupply.
With naturalizing this type of ethanol producing technology, our company is working on more bio-ethanol production facility, which are described in detailes under the subtitle Present Projects.
Cellulose based bio-ethanol production
The technology is under construction, it does not have any references, the costs can only be estimated.
Several research projects are under preparation in many countries (USA, Canada, Sweden). On the basis of these results, facilities in commercial operation could turn-out probably within ten years. Our company is following closely the results of the developments and intending to play active role in introduction of this technology when the relevant technical and commercial conditions are acceptable.
